6th Hellenic Conference on Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering

The 6th Hellenic Conference on Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering was organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) and was held in Volos, from September 29  to October 1, 2010 

The Conference recorded the progress of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering in Greece since 2006, when the 5th Hellenic Conference was held, as it was reflected, either in important geotechnical projects, already studied and executed, or as well in other challenging projects on geotechnical requirements,  such us railway works, road constructions, harbour works, hydraulic, building and environmental projects. A special session focused on Eurocodes.

The aim of the Conference was not only bringing forward the original elements of the geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, but also promoting theoretical and experimental research in soil, rocky and semi-rocky materials that can find application in practice.

16th Conference on Concrete

The 16th Conference on Concrete which was organised by the Greek Section of Concrete of the TCG and the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (STCC), was held on October 21-23, 2009, in Pafos, Cyprus.

The Conference appealed to qualified engineers, to consulting and construction companies and to public institutions, like the public entities and organizations, focused on concrete.
It should be noted that the Greek Conferences of Concrete are the forums, where the developments on concrete research and construction are presented and qualified engineers exchange views and opinions about the related matters.

Conference on the reform of the public works legal framework

The two days Conference on the reform of the public works legal framework was organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece and all the major Greek societies of Contractors and Consultants and was held on April 28-29, 2009 in Athens.

The 1st Conference on Robotics was organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece and was held on February 23-24, 2009 in Athens.
The Conference appealed to qualified engineers and other scientists, to consulting and scientific private and public institutions and companies, focused on Robotics.

FIG/UNHABITAT Project on Informal Settlements in Albania, Croatia and Greece

The project will focus on the situation in our countries: Albania, Croatia and Greece. We are supposed to end this research by January 2009 by writing a report and guidelines about the state-of-the-art, lessons-learnt and proposals for improving the situation.



1st Pan-Hellenic Conference & Exhibition on Building Materials and Elements

The Technical Chamber of Greece organises the 1st Pan -Hellenic Conference & Exhibition on Building Materials and Elements, May 21-23, 2008 at the Divani Caravel hotel, Athens.

The sector of Structural Materials and Elements constitutes one of the major sectors of our country¢s Industry concerning a great number of producers, constructors and users.

The rapid progress of science and technology in the sector of structural materials has as a result the growth of new materials and application methods, which are friendly to the environment and potentially energy saving. This requires special knowledge and experience not only in the sector of studies but also in their application.

15th Conference of Concrete, Alexandroupolis, Greece

 The 15th Conference of Concrete, which was organised by the Greek Section of Concrete of the TCG and the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (STCC) was held in Alexandroupolis, in Alexander Beach Hotel, in October 25-27, 2006.

The Conference appealed to qualified engineers, to consulting and construction companies and to public institutions, like the public entities and organizations, focused on concrete.

It should be noted that the Greek Conferences of Concrete are the forums, where the developments on concrete research and construction are presented and qualified engineers exchange views and opinions about the related matters.

 2nd Hellenic Conference on Road Construction

The 2nd Hellenic Conference on Road Construction was held in the city of Volos, in May 18-20, 2005.
The aims of the Conference were the presentation of the recent developments in the road construction area and especially the research, the study, the maintenance and the management of road constructions.
The Conference appealed to qualified engineers, educational institutions, Public and consulting agencies, entities and bodies interested in the field of road construction.
More than 400 participants attended the Conference and more than 85 papers were presented.
The Conference was followed by Technical Exhibition.




The Technical Chamber of Greece organized an event entitled ¡Days of Culture”, in December 13th to December 27th, 2006. The event aimed at promoting the artistic inspiration of engineers and their creativity.

This whole event was divided in three parallel sections, regarding the plastic arts, acting and film and theatre direction.

5th Hellenic Conference on Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering

The 5th Hellenic Conference on Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering was organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) and was held in Zita Palace Hotel, in Xanthi, from the 31st of May to the 2nd of June, 2006.

The Conference targeted mainly at recording the progress of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering in Greece - mostly during the 21st century - as it was reflected, either in important geotechnical projects, already studied and executed, or as well in other challenging projects on geotechnical requirements,  such us railway works, road constructions, harbour works, hydraulic, building and environmental projects.

The aim of the Conference was not only bringing forward the original elements of the geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, but also promoting theoretical and experimental research in soil, rocky and semi-rocky materials that can find application in practice.

3rd Conference on Industry titled “The Greek Industry, Towards the Knowledge based Economy”

The 3rd Conference on Industry, titled “The Greek Industry, Towards the Knowledge based Economy”, which was organised by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG), was held in Athens, at the Divani Caravel Hotel in July 3rd to July 5th, 2006.

The Conference contributed considerably to the direction of resolving the big and complex problems that Industry in Greece faces today, mainly in issues of competitiveness.

The objective of this event was to bring together scientists, employees, enterprises and industries, in order to present their achievements and  exchange opinions and experiences regarding the problems of Greek Industry, and formulate proposals and thoughts that could strengthen and promote competitiveness in the future.

This Conference was an important forum that contributed through the know-how of distinguished and experienced speakers, to register useful thoughts and proposals that could enhance the industrial activity.
